GORUCK Field Pockets – Overview
Field pockets are made to separate your gear from your main bag and can also be used outside the bag. You can use it as a first aid kit and pull it from your main bag without cluttering your other stuff. They lay flat with a zipper parallel to the center of the bottom of the pocket.
While you can, field pockets are not for packing your clothes because they are padded, adding extra bulk to the bag. They are still good storage to keep your electronics and gear properly and safely.
GR2 Field Pocket – My Review
I got hands-on with a GR2 field pocket – for my GR2 rucksack, of course.
GR2 is safe and big enough to carry your camera. It has plenty of padding to keep your stuff dry even if it is raining. It is a large pocket with 4 liters of space and measures 9”W x 8”H x 3”D. It attaches easily and efficiently to the GR2 rucksack through the MOLLE webbing system.
GR2 can also be used as a Dopp kit or your rucksack for added space and organization. It is made from 1000D Cordura and has three additional interior pockets to keep you organized.
GR1 Field Pocket – My Review

Well-built and minimalist, GR1 can be used as a Dopp kit or to organize your electronics. It is a little smaller than GR2 and is made from 1000D Cordura with a 3L capacity measuring 9″ W x 6″ H x 2.5″ D.

It has excellent pockets and wide walls that will safely take your camera and lens and can be secured inside or outside your GR1 backpack. It offers the most suitable sizing of all the Field Pockets and accommodates various gear.
